It features 2 portraits of the queen, both by Ian Rank-Broadley, The first based upon the Mary Gillick portrait that featured on coins from 1953-1968. While the 2nd is the queen in the current day wearing her garter robes which she adorns to attend the order of the garter.

The coin is presented within a luxury wooden presentation case with a uniquely numbered certificate of authenticity.

The 2012 Sovereign features a redesign of St George and the dragon by Paul Day, this special one off design celebrates the Queens diamond jubilee year and is only the 4th time in the history of the coin that the reverse design has been different, The coins with exception of the BU issues are proof struck in 22ct gold and come complete with a walnut presentation case and certificate of authenticity.

Mintages are lower for 2012 than they were for 2011, only 999 5 coin sets will be produced, while only 5,500 proof full sovereigns will be issued with box and certificate.

This years design is the classic and original of Britannia standing holding the trident and olive branch of peace.

The 2011 Gold BU £5 St George Crown is now availible for sale, only limited to 1000 strikes, the coin has been carefully created using the same tricks and tools of the trade from the 1800s

This is the Standard St George slaying the dragon design on the reverse with the 4th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

Pistrucci's Full name is stamped across below the effigy of St george.
